KEY SKILLS IN THE CATALAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

TIR (IT and Robotics)

In the new subject TIR (information technologies and robotics) our students have worked several contents in English: electronics, computer and mobile device programming, robotics, industrial and domestic automation, etc.

IT and robotics are the interdisciplinary branch of engineering that includes mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science and robotics among other things. Our students deal with the design, construction and use of robots and their information processing, as well as computer systems and technical software.

This year in technology 3 our students have worked general technological contents in English, where we can highlight the part of recycling of materials.

A Green-fingered Classroom !!!

 Science teacher Gloria Cantos and her Ist of ESO students (group E) have spent the last term taking care of their own classroom vegetable garden. They have decided through cooperation work what to plant, how to care for the needs of each plant and how to water them so as to get a nice green corner in the class.

One of the objectives was using this experience as an opportunity to link the project to other topics, areas and values. Some topics are related to our coursebook such as animals, biodiversity, and environment science, and some others are related to other subjects, for example: languages. It is with this goal that our garden has been done, using recycled material such as plastic water bottles in order to work  sustainability values. Also, every plant has been marked with a label to identify the species, in Latin, Catalan, Spanish and English. Finally, students have done research about some pests and sustainable methods to fight against them, some uses of the plants, ecological agriculture, permaculture, etc. All this work has been exposed to the classmates in an oral presentation.   

All in all, it has been an absolutely nice experience to connect the students with nature and from a global perspective. The whole project has been done thanks to collaborative work, which has created a memorable cooperation atmosphere. Students needed to sort out some difficulties and work with participation, responsibility, organization, empathy and respect for each other as well as for nature. J Thanks to this teamwork we have been enjoying this nice space during the last months. J

On the other hand, to finish the lessons with an artistic work of this environmental activist class J, you can find in the hall of the high school a nice photography exhibition as a campaign to denounce the abandonment of pets during the summer season. They have been exploring their creativity as photographers as well as instagramers and so they have become real environmental defenders!!!! J

3r et 4t FONT UNE ESCAPADE À ELNE

Le 19 mai dernier de bonne heure, l'autocar nous attendait devant le lycée pour nous rendre à Elne, en France. Nous avions étudié en classe de Français l'histoire d'Elisabeth Eidenbenz et de la maternité qu'elle a fondée.  Cela nous a paru extrêmement intéressant et nous avions hâte d'y arriver.

Une fois dans le petit palace, le guide, qui était très sympathique, a commencé à nous expliquer l'histoire de ce lieu lorsque Assumpta Montellà, l'auteur du livre La Maternitat d'Elna, est apparue dans la pièce où nous étions. Nous avons eu l'occasion de discuter un peu et avons voulu nous prendre en photo avec elle.

La visite de la maternité finie, nous nous sommes rendus à la cathédrale de la ville. Nous avons visité le cloître et l'intérieur de l'église. Tout en haut, il y avait une sorte de terrasse avec une vue panoramique, lieu idéal pour immortaliser ce moment en photo.

Le chauffeur de l'autobus nous attendait à 15 heures pour nous emmener à Collioure, une petite station balnéaire où l'écrivain espagnol Antonio Machado est enterré. Là-bas, nous avons eu pas mal de temps libre pour visiter le centre ville, pour prendre un bain de pieds dans la mer et pour manger de succulentes crêpes et glaces à tous les parfums.

Quand il fut temps de reprendre l'autocar pour rentrer chez nous, nous avons proposé à nos professeurs de partir sans nous, mais ils nous ont dit qu'ils avaient peur de partir tout seuls. Dommage, nous avons été obligés de les accompagner !

Una mica de gastronomia francesa :-)

Avui, els alumnes de Cultura Francesa de 4t d'ESO hem fet creps a classe, ja que la setmana passada vam estudiar la gastronomia francesa.

Aquí sota, et deixem els ingredients i la preparació:

INGREDIENTS (per 12 creps)

- Per la pasta:

3 ous

2 gots de farina

2 gots de llet

mantega

- Pel farcit:

nocilla

melmelada

pernil dolç i formatge

sucre

formatge rocafort amb codony

(obert a la imaginació)

PREPARACIÓ

Agafa un bol gran i posa-hi els ous, el got de farina i el got de llet (posa la farina abans que la llet al got per no liar-la i que no et quedi tot enganxat). Endolla el turmix i fot-li!

Prepara una paella plana i posa-la a foc lent amb una mica de mantega. Quan la paella estigui força calenta, posa-li la pasta amb un cullerot. Pots posar més o menys pasta segons el gust. Hi ha també un aparell per fer creps (com el nostre de les fotos) i no fa falta utilitzar paella.

Gira la crep perquè es cogui per l'altre costat i posa-li els ingredients que vulguis al mig. Per tancar la crep hi ha vàries formes: en forma de triengle, partida per la meitat, o bé en forma de xurro. Fes-la al teu gust. La primera no et quedarà massa bé, però cal que agafis el ritme i les vagis fent a foc lent. Si la crep és dolça, és aconsellable posar-hi una mica de sucre i, si és salada, una mica de sal.

La bienvenue aux amis du lycée Montserrat de Barcelone

Ce matin, les 1 ESO A et B ont reçu leurs amis de Barcelone au lycée. Ils ont fait un pique-nique précédé de la bienvenue de Monsieur le Proviseur et, ensuite, les élèves gagnants du concours Joverd ont préparé une exhibition de nos célèbres Castells et puis un atelier, où les Barcelonais ont eu l'occasion de participer à la construction de ces tours humaines.

Les élèves du lycée ont reçu leurs corres.

Dans le cadre de l'échange Reus-Vilafranca, le lundi 25 avril, nous avons reçu nos corres au lycée. D'abord, on a visité les caves Torres à Pacs. On a fait le chemin à pied entre vignobles et un beau soleil de printemps. On a suivi attentivement les explications de notre guide en français et, après, on a pris le petit déjeuner dans les parages. On a refait le chemin avec nos corres jusqu'au lycée.
On a eu une belle journée avec nos correspondants, maintenant, nos amis de Reus.

Le mardi 19 avril, les étudiants de 1 ESO A et B sont allés rencontrer leurs corres de Barcelone

Le mardi 19 avril fut notre tour: les élèves de 1 ESO A et B sommes allés à Barcelone visiter nos correspondants. On a bien mangé, on a bien rigolé et nous nous sommes bien amusés à l'atelier Astérix à Barcelone que nous avons fait au lycée Montserrat.
